My company is gearing up for a transition to Scrum, and in the next two weeks, I’m tasked with presenting the concept to our COO and Corporate Strategy executives. The catch? They’ve only heard of Scrum in passing, and I’m not entirely sure if I’m fully prepared for this pivotal presentation.
Currently, I’m neck-deep in crafting a Scrum 101 presentation, and I’m eager to learn from those who’ve been through a similar process.
Congratulations Angela – this is a great step in the direction of going agile, especially scrum! 🎉
Here’s my Top 3 recommendations to keep in mind as you tailor your presentation and go down the path of an agile transformation journey.
#3 Audience – Developers and team members will get value from the tactical level. Whereas, leadership will be looking for strategic and cost benefit.
#2 Outcome – Clarify and quantify the outcome your team and leadership are looking to achieve; as scrum may not always be the best solution to achieve the desired outcome.
#1 Customer – The most important is to keep your customer in forefront of your mind. The customer is paying for the products and services your teams will build. Most teams miss this critical point; as the customer is reason the team members have a job.
Hope that helps – looking forward to our conversation tomorrow.
Hi @anggair – I have done this task at my company and can provide some tips as well during the Ask Me Anything this Friday. Looking forward to chatting with you then 😃
