When Someone's Energy Towards You Changes
Have you ever noticed that someone suddenly starts behaving differently toward you?
The messages become shorter.
The calls become less frequent.
The person who used to ask how your day went suddenly doesn't seem interested anymore.
And you start asking yourself, “Did I do something wrong?”
Sometimes, you may have done something. But sometimes, people simply change. Their priorities change. Their feelings change. Their circumstances change.
And one of the hardest things to learn in relationships is that you cannot force someone to remain the same person they were when they first met you.
Don't immediately blame yourself.
Pay attention to patterns rather than one bad day. Communicate when necessary. Ask questions instead of creating stories in your head.
But if someone consistently shows you that they no longer want to put effort into the relationship, don't spend all your energy trying to convince them to care.
Relationships require effort from both sides.
Question:
When someone's energy toward you changes, do you ask them what's wrong or quietly distance yourself?
